The Best Steam Mop Locations – Where You’ll Find The Most Use For Your Steam Mops

best steam mop reviews and infoThroughout my own house, I have hard floor surfaces all over the place. Just about every floor in the entire house is either hardwood or tile, which is a look that I love. Growing up I had carpet in pretty much every room of my house and saw early on the disadvantages of this method, and saw how elegant and nice homes who had a lot of nice hardwood floors looked. I kept the same opinion as I grew up, and nowadays my home looks just how I like it.

This didn’t come without a cost, however! I must admit that growing up I hadn’t considered how difficult keeping hardwood floors was going to be. I saw vacuuming and steam cleaning carpeting as a pain, and thought that this was avoidable by having hardwood and tile floors. Guess again.. you have to sweep and mop your hard floor surfaces even more than you have to steam clean carpeting, that’s for sure! After years of suffering through mopping my floors the old fashioned way, I got smart and bought myself a steam mop. It literally blew my mind how much easier and faster it was to keep my floors clean with this essential appliance.

Where Your Steam Mop Will Find Its Most Use

Just about every home out there, my own included, the kitchen is in a central location of the house where the rest of the house seems to be built around. It’s as if the kitchen is the centerpiece that the rest of the rooms simply ornament. Because of this typical structure, the kitchen often acts as a place where the center of activity takes place. While people go off to their own bedrooms or offices to be solitary and do their own thing, the kitchen (and adjacent family rooms) house the majority of the activity and meeting in the house. The family and friends of the family all meet here (at least once in a while) to prepare and eat food.

This is really where a lot of the dirt and debris build up on the floor. Since food and traffic is pretty much the primary things that a kitchen sees, you’re probably going to build up the most dirt and debris on the surfaces in this location.

Bathrooms – Another location that not only sees a lot of traffic, but also is home to activities which make a big mess pretty quickly. Since people bathe, groom themselves, and use the bathroom in this small room, it almost builds up dirt and grime faster than the kitchen even does! If all of this sort of activity wasn’t enough, you have to keep in mind that heat and moisture are also all over the room. Add germs into that equation, and while the floor might not be as visibly dirty in here as in the kitchen, you can count on the germs and whatnot to be pretty atrocious on the floor here. Fortunately there are rarely obstacles to steam mop around in here, and it’s small surface area makes it a pretty quick place to use your steam mop!

Attached garages – This may or may not apply to you, but I personally have an attached garage on my home. We use the attached garage to store a number of things, but it’s also large enough to have a fridge and plenty of room for socializing. Since we don’t smoke inside the house itself, we usually just smoke out in the attached garage. In the winter it gets a little chilly, but it’s a great spot. Anyway, in order to keep this location clean, the smooth hard surface is really easy to steam mop. I don’t do it often, but a quick sweep and steam mopping will prevent the floor from getting to dirty to handle.
